Shiznit

I really wanted to write a little something about my fuzzy buddies in my life. The world needs to know about the cuteness that is Shiznit and Gaius. I’ll start off with the big kitty and work my way to the little guy.

Everyone meet Shiznit! We got Shiznit in November, 3 years ago. I have always loved cats, and had many growing up. Matt on the other hand was not cat person. He grew up with boxers, and had a bit of a hate on for cats. I have said it before, and I’ll say it again, my husband is awesome! He felt since I left my home in B.C, and I didn’t know anyone here, that maybe just maybe a kitten might bring me a little bit of joy, and company to my new world. Did I mention Matt is very allergic to them? Yeah, he’s awesome. Obviously I was trilled with the idea of getting a kitten, but I didn’t want to settle on any kitten. So we set out to look for an orange male tabby kitten. I’m telling you, this wasn’t easy to come by. We drove all over the place, and held so many cute kittens, but they weren’t my orange tabby. Finally when we were on our way home, Matt realized one last spot we could check. We walked in the really bad pet shop. By bad I mean, the fish tanks were really messy, the place stunk and the puppies locked behind their glass walls were rolling around in their own poop. I pretty much wanted to leave, until I noticed a huge cage. In this cage were about 4 or 5 kittens.There was a little orange kitten with a big brown spot on his nose. I’m ashamed to say this but we almost left due to the huge brown spot on his nose, he wasn’t picture purrrrfect as I had pictured. That lasted about 2 seconds, until I checked his bits and pieces and new he was my orange male tabby that was about to come home with me. I wish I could have taken all those pets home out of that horrible pet shop, but for now I rescued one, which made me very happy. From that moment I loved this little guy with all my heart!

Shiznit was such a cute kitten, and made himself at home Every night we could call Shiznit and he would run to our bed and sleep next to me on my pillow. When he felt it was time for us to get up the next morning,he had no problems waking us up.

How did I leave out how this cute, adorable kitten received his name to begin with.Funny story actually, I mentioned that Matt was allergic to cats right? Well, he was making a huge sacrifice for me, so I let him name our kitten. You don’t think a woman would name a cute little orange ball of fur Shiznit do you? No, that was all man.

Shiznit was declawed and neutered about a year ago now, and since then he has turned into one huge lazy kitty. I often refer to him as Garfield. He lays around all over the place with his do not disturb paws on his face, it’s quite adorable. His other signature moves are licking his boobies and being a beached seal. This big old orange kitty will prob himself up against the wall, as if he is sitting on his bum, and lick his boobies. It’s so funny. Other times he will lie on his back, belly up, with his eyes wide open paws out, chilling.

About 6 months after Shiznit was neutered, and we realized he wasn’t getting any smaller we decided to get another kitten. That’s a completely different story though. To make a longer story short, since we got Shiznit a little buddy, he seems to be much happier. At first he would hide from this 4 week little monster!

Gaius and Shiznit wrestle all the time. Shiznit being tackled from every which way. They keep us up at night, meowing and running across the apartment. When Gaius is no where to be seen, Shiznit will cry non stop until he finds him. I don’t know how these two little buggers ever got along without each other.To be honest I can’t picture our lives without them. Did I mention that he is a HUGE ass cat?
