Don’t you just love when something unexpected happens throughout the day? Matt and I were sitting down for lunch, when we heard something loud outside. Gaius had caught a mouse! Not just any mouse, but a the most adorable baby mouse! Instantly without thinking I ran outside and tried to open his mouth so he would drop the mouse, nope….not gonna happen. Matt went and got the canned air and sprayed it at Gaius. Soon enough he dropped the mouse. The poor little guy was scared shit less, he ran off the patio, and fell down 3 levels. I went downstairs because I’m crazy like that, and picked the little guy up. I was holding him for awhile, and he seemed to be in some huge state of shock! I was gonna put him down somewhere safe, but with all the birds chirping around, nowhere seemed safe, and I figured he knew our place to be home. So I brought him back upstairs. He’s gotta have a momma, he’s so freaking tiny! To make a long story short, I asked if I could keep him, and I was shot down. So, I made him a temporary home outside in an old kitty litter box, go figure. He’s got food, water, and a bed….I’ll keep checking up on him once and awhile…….hopefully he will learn his lesson and move up a floor where the neighbors may not have cats.
UPDATE! The little guy fell into his tiny little water bowl. I had to save his life again! He was drowning…….poor little guy, this is not his day at all!
UPDATE 2! He died…..
Ouch! That’s harsh. I was just digging your archives and I found this little post after I read the “[...]entertain me dammit.” post. I remember when I had a hamster only in my case, Tom was successful in slaughtering Jerry and it happened right infront of my face and there’s nothing I can do since I was too late. But, after that, I still ate.
I suppose it’s in a cats nature to slaughter Jerry’s everywhere!
I wish Jerrys in real life are actually that smarter than Toms, that would be great.
