So we may spend our time doing things people may not normally do, but hey I feel freaking great about it. We live in front of a pretty cool bike trail. I love it because in the summer it really reminds me of B.C. The overgrown trails, and the endless colours of green. We use this trail often enough to appreciate it’s natural beauty. Unfortunately people and nature think differently. Completely covered in garbage, I decided not to ignore it anymore. My daughter is in Brownies, so I thought I would get her on board by suggesting we clean it up for a badge.
A couple of our friends decided to help us out as well, which was very nice! Marvlette, Misha-Louise, Hannah and I set out with garbage picker uppers and a couple enormous garbage bags. We spent a couple hours cleaning up a really bad patch of the trail. I took a couple before and after picks, but the before shots don’t really show off the complete mess it was.
We filled those two bags, along with a huge Rubber maid trashcan we found shoved in the bush, dragged 3 huge cardboard boxes in the bin and saved a local family of beavers habitat. Who knew….a bunch of beavers call this particular place their home. We found their huge branch dome, and a bunch of half taken down trees, it was pretty cool!
We clean up a trail, Hannah earns a badge, and some local beavers get their waterfront property detailed. I would do so much more if I could, but I am only one person. Oh to be a superhero! That would be some cool shit. Now if I could only come up with a name….
Cheers!

My superhero name is The Rainbow Alien! I think you should be ECO GIRL! Good job on the clean up. You rock!
Joshua being a Beaver is so impressed that you found a Beaver damm. He looked at the pictures and told me he wished he could have been there with you guys. Joshua loves doing that sort of thing. Good job.
