My Birthday

Random Blog Posts

I couldn’t have had a better day. First thing my little Hannah bug jumped in my bed and gave me some big cuddles. When I tried to get up she would pin me down! That’s when I knew somethings up. I asked her “what’s going on”, she said “she just loved me, that’s all”. This isn’t Hannah behavior. I can usually get a little snuggle and a kiss, but not a long cuddle. She’s to wired for that.

Matt came in a few minutes later with pancakes, bacon, coffee and Oj. I must say it looked mighty impressive. The pancakes were perfectly round, and the bacon was tv perfect. Irish cream coffee was a treat as well. I love that stuff! Matt them started bringing out my gifts! Food, and presents…..does it get any better?
After a yummy breakfast, Hannah and I got ready for the day and went to the salon. Hannah got about 5 inches taken off her hair, and a bunch of long layers. I got a nice haircut, and got skinny hair for the day!Skinny hair is the flattest hair possible, it doesn’t even seem real! I love it.

We met up with Matt after our pampering, and went out to lunch. After they swore nobody would mention birthday. I hate when people sing crappy, annoying, embarrassing songs to you in a restaurant. Yeah that’s what I would like on my birthday, a bunch of strangers trying to embarrass me. No thanks. Not to mention the place we went they shove a f’n moose head on your head! Wtf is up with that! Anyways, lunch was wonderful.

After lunch Matt took me shopping, he wanted to buy me a new watch. It took awhile to find one, but finally we did. It’s a very beautiful silver Guess watch. We then went shopping for a little while more. Hannah picked up a cowgirl hat, which looks freaking cute with her new hairdo! I got a few tank-tops and Matt and I got a new pair of kicks.

To finish the day off we stopped to pick up a couple beverages, and ingredients for dinner. I made a killer plate of Nachos, just like my dad used to when I was a kid. Soooooo awesome. Ohhhhh the yummiest part of the day was no cake…but éclairs for dessert!

My favourite part of the day was breakfast in bed, it was sweet, romantic, and very thoughtful. I enjoyed hanging out with my family all day. It was a very good start to an even better year!

Thanks Hannah! Thanks Matt, you guys are the best!

I’m so glad you enjoyed your day! You’ve had a few sucky ones over the past few years and our goal this year was to make it as enjoyable as possible – right from the get-go!

I’m also very glad you had a good day. I’ve been thinking a lot on what your hubby said, not to write until you have “something to say”. I wanted to tell you that everything you do, and every experience you have, even if it’s cleaning the toilets, would be something to talk about. This world is full of pompous “writers”, who think that the only time people should write is if it’s “profound”. I enjoy your writing, your unique perspective on life, and I’ve missed reading while you were waiting for “something to say”. A good example of good writing about everyday life, with a unique and humourous perspective, is another site I like to visit http://www.dooce.com/ . You’ve probably heard of heard of her, she’s very popular, but it’s a great example. In other words, please keep writing.

Thanks Krista, I like to talk way too much! I’ll check out that site too, I haven’t heard of her. To be honest I view very few blogs.

Ohhh Dan, still enjoying those Guinness eh? Were they green at least? I have never had green beer, am I missing out? Knowing you, you probably were somewhere hot too, am I right? Where is your next destination going to be!
