A baby cries in mothers arms,
Tears rolling down her face,
The mother grabs the child holding her close,
People gawking all round wondering when she will stop,
Looking around she saw me,
I smiled back knowing how she felt.
From then I felt she knew it didn’t matter,
Everyone else seemed to fade away,
This woman and her child,
This moment was all that mattered,
As the child calms,
Mother smiles, rocking side to side,
The baby reaches out,
The sweet sound of mothers lullaby draws the child to sleep.
